My name is Maxime Obry and I am a recent graduate with a bachelor's degree in 3D Animation and VFX from the Brassart school in Strasbourg.

I am looking for a permanent or fixed-term contract as a Character Artist, 3D Surfacing Artist, and 3D Generalist, while remaining open to other proposals. Curious and passionate about the world of 3D, I enjoy exploring the creation of characters, objects, and environments with the same desire to design impactful and expressive visuals. I am in search of varied projects where I can showcase my universe and continue to push my artistic boundaries.

3D Modelling

My greatest strength in the field of 3D creation remains modelling. Capable of designing both simple models and complex structures, I pay great attention to detail and precision. I also master UV unwrapping, including the use of UDIMs, as well as retopology, ensuring that the models are both rich in detail and perfectly optimised for animation, real-time rendering, or cinema.

Passionate about 3D sculpting, I have developed a true expertise in this field, constantly refining my skills through the creation of immersive characters and creatures. I primarily use ZBrush, a tool that allows me to explore complex shapes, refine the smallest anatomical details, and bring a unique expressiveness to my creations. Each project represents an opportunity for learning and improvement, with the aim of achieving my ultimate goal: to work as a professional Character Artist.

Texturing

With a solid experience in texturing, I am proficient in both Substance 3D Painter and Blender. Combining precision and creativity, I am capable of designing detailed and realistic textures for a wide variety of materials, whether they are organic surfaces, metallic, or stylised elements. I fully utilise the advanced tools of these software programs, such as dynamic masks, adaptive parameters, and procedural effects, in order to ensure renders that are both optimised and visually striking.

Capable of creating armatures from scratch and using pre-made armatures, as well as performing Skinning or Weight Painting with precision. Ensuring natural and high-quality deformations and joints without errors.

As a key pillar of the digital creation industry, I have developed strong technical and artistic skills in this field. Through my training, I have gained a mastery of the fundamental principles of animation, from rigging to timing, as well as the expressiveness of movement. I had the opportunity to apply this knowledge in my final year project at Brassart school, where I was able to enhance my ability to bring characters and environments to life in motion.

Capable of producing audio and video edits, both on Premiere Pro and on Davinci Resolve. Able to perform colour corrections as well as make cuts and transitions for all types of projects.
